Topographic Mapping with Multiple Antenna SAR Interferometry: A Bayesian Model-Based Approach
نویسنده
چکیده
Multiple-antennaSAR interferometryinvolves the use of three or more antennas to reduce the overall phase ambiguities and phase noise in interferometric data. This paper presents a Bayesian approach to topographic mapping with multiple-antenna SAR interferometry. Topographic reconstruction is formulated as a parameter estimation problem in the model-based Bayesian inference framework. An InSAR simula. tor based on a forward model is developed for simulating SAR data from multiple-antenna InSAR for evaluating the Bayesian topographic reconstruction algorithms. A Bayesian point position algorithm is developed to estimate the height of a point in the image. A measure of the uncertainty in estimated position and height is also defined in terms of the spread of the dominant mode of the posterior distribution. An example demonstrating the performance of the algorithm for a three-antenna InSAR system is reported, and conclusions are drawn regarding the performance and improvements are proposed.

The Use of Polarimetric and Interferometric Sar Data in Floodplain Mapping
Recent advances in polarimetric SAR show promise for augmenting the capability of traditional interferometric SAR. In particular, a polarimetric topography technique provides useful slope information, and polarimetric interferometry may be used to decompose the response into vegetation and ground surface contributions. Here we discuss an integrated approach that utilizes the combined capability...

Topographic mapping with spotlight Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) using an interferometric technique is studied. Included is a review of the equations for determination of terrain elevation from the phase difference between a pair of SAR images formed from data collected at two differing imaging geometries. This paper builds upon the systems analysis of Li and Goldstein in which image pair deco...

By today, the technology of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry (InSAR) has been largely exploited in digital elevation model (DEM) generation and deformation mapping. Conventional InSAR technique exploits two SAR images acquired from slightly different angles, in which the information of elevation and deformation can be captured through processing of the phase difference of the image...

We show that spaceborne Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) interferometry is a valuable tool for surface deformation monitoring. By applying the Small Baseline Subset (SBAS) technique to an ERS data set covering Oslo (Norway), we show that the Bjørvika area has been subsiding more than 5 mm/year in the time period of 1992–2000. We review the SBAS algorithm, a new differential SAR interferometry app...

The great potential of space-borne SAR images for semior fully-automatic mapping of topographic features has been shown by many approaches. While most of them focus on 2D mapping of topographic features, some preliminary research on the complex task of automatic delineation of 3D information in urban environments has been initiated in recent years. In this paper, we analyze the capabilities of ...
